Le Couleurs: Art of Haiti gallery at Go Electric
Our Le Couleurs gallery has original paintings from well known and emerging artists in Haiti, as well as crafts from Haitian artisans for purchase. We are also pleased to announce that PROCEEDS FROM ALL ART SALES will be donated to humanitarian causes in Haiti, such as locally based groups like Haiti Help Med Plus, and many other aid organizations.
SORRY BUT WE HAVE CLOSED AS OF SEPTEMBER 30, 2018
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN HAITIAN ART, WE STILL HAVE THAT AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE TO SUPPORT HAITI PROJECTS, PLEASE MESSAGE US THROUGH OUR ART FACEBOOK PAGE CALLED LES COULEURS ART OF HAITI OR EMAIL AT GOELECTRIC@CFL.RR.COM
Le Couleurs is pleased to present featured artists from Petionville, Haiti: Merancien Jean Mitho, Cabrini Demesmin, David Chery, James Jason, and wood sculpturers, Jean Beaujour and Wilner LaGuerre. We are also pleased to feature Port-au-Prince painter Kevens Prevaris (who is currently studying art in Belgium). While using different styles and media, all represent authentic Haitian themes in their work, and all are well appreciated and displayed in galleries. Please come view their works in our gallery, you will be impressed. These artists have been invited to display their work at the 2011 Zora Neale Hurston Festival of the Arts and will be featured in their festival publication. Twenty pieces from our shop are on display in early 2011 at Orlando City Hall in the Terrace Gallery as part of the recognition of the anniversary of the 1/12/10 earthquake in Haiti.
We are also working to support youth soccer and education programs in Haiti. Most children there have no recreational activities and many cannot even afford to go to school. We are collecting used and outgrown soccer uniforms, cleats, balls, and other gear, as well as school supplies and toys for children in Haiti. Please bring them to our store.
